EXPERIENCE THE AURORA.
Over seven months in the Arctic Circle, camera crews captured time-lapse images of the Aurora Borealis with high resolution digital SLR cameras outfitted with fisheye lenses. The results are spectacular. For the first time the aurora has been captured as it was meant to be experienced, as a display that covers the entire sky. How and why the auroras are seen is also explained in this show.
The OASIS IN SPACE show is all about water. Water: our most precious resource. Without it, life could not exist on our planet. Is the reverse also true? If we search for water, will we also find life? Join us as we explore our solar system and discover what makes our world stand out among the Sun’s family of planets. Stunning imagery will captivate you as we journey to, and sometimes even below, the surfaces of our neighbor worlds to discover whether or not life might be possible beyond our home planet.
These will be the last planetarium presentations until July.
Reservations must be made online at astroprof.com
Dear Hollidaysburg Area School District Community,
Over the past two years, the COVID-19 Pandemic has caused financial adversity in the lives of many of our children and their families. For many years, The GIANT Company has been actively involved in our community to help families in need. At no other time in recent memory has this assistance been more needed.
The Hollidaysburg Area School District and The GIANT Company are pleased to share with you the success of the Round Up At The Register Program, in support of feeding children throughout our school district. Throughout January and February 2023, community members donated through the Round Up At The Register Program in support of school district food and meal programs. The GIANT Company and community members through the Round Up At The Register Program supported the Hollidaysburg Area School District with a generous donation in the amount of $5,318!
Thank you to GIANT and the Hollidaysburg community for your selfless giving for the benefit of those in need.
For the 6th year in a row, the Hollidaysburg JH Quiz Team has placed first at the Blair/Bedford regional tournament. This qualifies the team to compete at the National level again. Congratulations, Quiz Team!
The Hollidaysburg Area School District has been honored as a Google for Education Reference District. Google for Education Reference Districts are districts that demonstrate excellence and thought leadership through the innovative use of technology, including Google Workspace for Education and Chromebooks, to drive impact and positive learning outcomes.
The purpose of the Google Reference Program is to showcase excelling schools and for all other schools to learn by example. HASD is dedicated to the continuous pursuit of academic excellence and strives to lead all surrounding Districts. HASD hopes to improve the quality of education for all students in the entire region, not just those in our District. To do so, educational tours will be available for surrounding educators to visit our campus. These tours will provide a direct look at the amazing work our dedicated teachers, staff, and students do every day.
