HOLLIDAYSBURG AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT
MINUTES

The Physical Plant Committee of the Hollidaysburg Area School Board met Wednesday, May 7, 2025 in the Senior High Library, 1510 N. Montgomery Street, Hollidaysburg. Ms. Bilek called the meeting to order at 4:03p.m. 
Mrs. Fiscus took roll call with 5 members present.  Attending were Ms. Bilek, Ms. Sullivan, Dr. Li, Ms. Luther, and Dr. Wells.  Dr. Sommer arrived at 4:15p.m. and Mr. Snyder arrived at 4:20p.m. Also present were Mr. Whitesel, Dr. Boone, Mrs. Prosser, Mrs. Fiscus, Mrs. Bell, Mr. Nihart, Mr. Arthur, and an Altoona Mirror representative. Ms. Faith arrived at 4:15p.m and Mr. Caldwell arrived at 4:35p.m.
Mr. Nihart presented a list of district project needs along with 3 different project options with lesser costs that still address the highest needs in in the district.  
Option 1 – Project Total $11,598,139 and includes:
Completion of SH spray foam roof replacement $ 6,440,191.00
JH boiler replacement $ 2,715,797.00
JH Fire Alarm Panel Upgrade $ 101,432.00
JH Parapet Walls $ 180,907.00
JH victraulic fitting replacement for boiler piping $ 687,392.00
JH 36 wing roof replacement $ 716,311.00 
SH TPO roof recoat (warranty expires 8/16/2026) $ 756,109.00 
Project Total $ 11,598,139.00
Option 2 included all of Option 1 with the addition of the JH Secure Vestibule at $315,907 for a total of $11,914.046
Option 3 included Option 1, with the addition of the Junior High Secure Vestibule in Option 2 and the JH Classroom door upgrade in the amount of $462.604 for a total of $12,376,650
Mrs. Fiscus presented several different funding options for the projects that included borrowing, millage needs and restructuring of district bonds.  Mrs. Fiscus also described the pros and cons of each funding option.
Ms. Bilek adjourned the meeting at 4:43p.m.
