HOLLIDAYSBURG AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT
MINUTES

The Hollidaysburg Area School Board met for a Curriculum Committee Meeting on Wednesday, February 19, 2025  in the Senior High Library, 1510 N. Montgomery Street, Hollidaysburg.   Dr. Li called the meeting to order at 5:01p.m.  

Attending were Dr. Li, Ms. Sullivan, Mr. Snyder, Ms. Luther, Mr. Brenneman, Dr. Wells, Ms. Bilek, Ms. Costanza, Mr. Whitesel, Dr .Boone, Mr. Nihart, Ms. Faith, and Mr. Arthur.  Attorney Joseph Beard, Solicitor arrived at 5:45p.m.

Dr. Boone gave updates on the following areas:

Curriculum and Instruction
Elementary Level:
Kindergarten Registration and “Kinder Camp” – new for 2025-2026.
ELA  - The CORE Curriculum Review Process – Wonders, Amplify Learning, IReady, and Into Reading to replace Journeys 
Title - Interventions, Community Events, & Summer 

Junior High Level:
Competitions – Consistency and Expansion
Departments – Scheduling and Meetings

Senior High Level:
Courses and Electives – Learning Support ELA
Professional Learning – Curriculum Work
Materials, Resources and Equipment – Grants and Free Resources

Curriculum and Instruction Updates – Summer
STEM Camp – Grades K-6
Career Camps and GACTC – Grades 4-9
Summer Work and Trainings – Elementary ELA, Book Van
