HOLLIDAYSBURG AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT
MINUTES

The Physical Plant Committee of the Hollidaysburg Area School Board met Wednesday, September 13, 2023 in the Senior High Library, 1510 N. Montgomery Street, Hollidaysburg.  Mr. Stephens called the meeting to order at 5:05p.m. 

Board members in attendance were Mr. Stephens, Dr. Sommer, and Ms. Bilek.  Also attending were Dr. Gildea, Mr. Nihart, and Mr. Arthur.
Mark Gallick, McClure Company, presented a preliminary report on constructing a solar field on the District's campus.
The committee recommended that the vote on the Letter of Intent be tabled until the new board is seated, since a contract wouldn’t be ready to approve for approximately 6 months.  The committee also recommended exploring the option to use the savings from the solar field installation to replace boilers in district buildings.

Mr. Nihart gave a update on the GESA Project.

The condition and possible removal of the trees at the Junior High was discussed.
The committee recommended that the trees continue to be maintained and removed as necessary.
Committee Chair, Doug Stephens, will present a report at the October 18, 2023 COW/Voting Meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:05p.m.
