MINUTES

The Athletic Committee of the Hollidaysburg Area School Board met Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at 5:02 p.m. in the Senior High Library.

In attendance were Ms. Frye, Ms. Hartman, Dr. Gildea, Mr. Arthur, Mr. DeLattre, and Dr. Letcher.  Mr. Caldwell arrived at 5:30p.m.  Mr. Laret Miller was present as an audience member.

Mr. DeLattre provided the following information:

o    Winter Sports Review
    Evaluations of Head Coaches are underway
    Recapped the team and individual accomplishments

o    Spring Sports Season Preview
    Provided Spring schedules
    Shared expected participant numbers

o    Restore the Roar Update
    ‘Restore the Roar Basketball Tournament’ had a great turnout – considered a very successful fundraising effort.
    Upgrades scheduled for the cardio room in the high school
    Received an $81K state grant plus a $6K Foundation grant
    Restore the Roar committee may consider holding a short campaign for upgrades and improvements to the weight room

o    Facilities Update
    Rentals continued – Little League, Claysburg football, Sideline Cancer, Tennis Courts, YMCA and PIAA (approximately $12K in rental income)
    Resurfacing the track at Tiger Stadium
    Options, plans, and status update will be discussed in more detail at the upcoming Physical Plant meeting.

o    Miscellaneous
    NCAA Signings – 8 Hollidaysburg student/athletes signed letters of intent to continue participating at the college level
    Leadership/Captains Meetings and the Spring Survey will be starting soon
    Interviews for the Boys’ Soccer Coach will be happening soon.
