HOLLIDAYSBURG AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT
MINUTES
The Athletic Committee of the Hollidaysburg Area School Board met Wednesday, March 9, 2022 in the Senior High Library. Ms. Frye called the meeting to order at 5:03p.m.
Attending were Ms. Frye, Ms. Hartman, Ms. Bilek, Dr. Gildea, Mr. Nihart, Mr. Arthur, Mr. DeLattre and Dr. Letcher.
Mr. DeLattre initiated information on the following items:
- Recapped participation numbers and team/individual accomplishments
for the Winter Sports teams.
- Provided a Spring Sports Season Preview:
- Provided game schedules for Spring sports.
- Provided game schedules for Spring sports.
- Provided a Restore the Roar Update:
- Scoreboard — funding complete; plans to begin construction in June 2022.
- Restore the Roar Tournament — successful tournament; well attended.
- Provided an overview of Facility Rentals:
- PIAA and District 6 Events
- Spring/Summer Soccer (Tiger Stadium)
- HASBL (Baseball Fields)
- YMCA Program
- Presented an Athletic Facilities Update:
- Track Surface – some resurfacing is necessary; budgeted for 2022/23.

- Explained the Laurel Highlands Conference Expansion opportunity:
- LHAC voted to expand and invite 14 other schools to join —
Hollidaysburg one of the schools invited (excluding football). - Outlined the teams currently in the conference as well as the teams invited.
- Overviewed the advantages to joining the Conference.
- LHAC is looking for a 4-year commitment from the invited teams.
- After a brief discussion, the Athletic Committee unanimously approved
the recommendation to join the LHAC beginning the 2023-2024 school year.
