Business Office Report / Mrs. Fiscus
The board and administration met to continue discussion of the 2021-2022 budget. Discussion focused on different options for the board to form a consensus for final budget adoption on June 16, 2021.
The administration recommended raising taxes up to the maximum amount allowed by the Act 1 Index of 0.3365.
Two options were presented:
Option 1 – Tax Increase 0.3365 Mills
Option 2 – Tax Increase 0.16825 Mills
Dr. Sommer asked for a straw vote in favor of raising taxes to the Act 1 limit, Option 1. By a show of hands, board members were in favor of Option 1. Dr. Sommer, Mr. Brenneman, Mr. Stephens, Ms. Frye, and Mr. Gallagher were in favor. Opposed were Ms. Hartman, Nr. Nichols and Mr. Snyder.
The board discussed the projected budget forecast and a contingency plan for future budgets.
There being no further business to be brought before the board, Dr. Sommer declared the meeting adjourned at 7:07p.m.
