HOLLIDAYSBURG AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT
The Physical Plant Committee of the Hollidaysburg Area School Board met in person and virtually, Wednesday, April 7, 2021. Mr. Nichols called the meeting to order at 6:14p.m.
Mr. Nichols, Ms. Hartman, Mr. Stephens, Mr. Brenneman, Dr. Gildea, Mrs. Mitchell and Mr. Nihart were present in person.
There were no virtual attendees.
Discussion topics included the following:
Physical Plant Department Update
Mr. Nihart reviewed numerous projects that were completed throughout the entire district since the last Physical Plant Committee Meeting.
Capital Budget Report
- Review of Long-Term Planning
- Review of Funding Sources
Capital Reserve 5-Year Plan
- Plan Overview
- Proposed 2021-2022 Projects
Projects for approval at the April 14, 2021 Voting Meeting:
- District-wide telephone system replacement
° Press box roof replacement
- District wide sidewalk/curb repair or replacement
- Window repair
Mr. Nihart reviewed the possibility of installing air conditioning in all buildings which is an eligible expense for the ESSER funds as it helps with indoor air quality. Mr. Nihart met with McClure, a GESA (Guaranteed Energy Savings Act) company for air conditioning at the Junior High, Frankstown, and Foot of Ten. At Charles W. Longer, they are looking at a GESA hybrid project (hybrid) which would not only focus on energy savings but also renovations or new construction.
The committee summarized the discussion topics and agreed on recommendations.
Mr. Nichols, Committee Chair, will present the report at the May 14, 2021 COW/Voting Meeting.
