Teacher Positions

Teacher Applicants:

Teaching applicant items to be uploaded via Applitrack include:

  • Application Form 
  • Praxis Test Scores
  • Reference Letters (3 minimum). Please provide three letters of recommendation from current or former employers and evaluations of student teaching.
  • Official College Transcript
  • Copy of Teaching Certificate
  • Current Resume. Please be sure to include complete addresses with zip codes for all former employers (including student teaching experience) and personal references.
  • Criminal History Clearance (Act 34) (no older than 1 year)
  • Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151) (no older than 5 years)
  • FBI Clearance (Act 114) (no older than 5 years)
  • Evidence of Completed Mandated Reporter Training (Child Abuse - Act 126). If you have not had the mandatory 3-hour training course in the last 5 years, free training can be obtained at the link to the right. 
  • Health Record (optional). If you are hired by the District, it will be necessary to have a Health Form completed by your physician prior to your first day of work. 

Your hiring will be contingent upon completion of a satisfactory pre-employment physical as well as a pre-employment drug screen. Please refer to this policy for additional information on the pre-employment drug screen.

Your hiring will also be contingent upon receipt of Act 168 Sexual Misconduct Disclosure form(s).  A request to complete the Act 168 form(s) will be sent via email and will be completed using an electronic system.

Your application will not be considered active until all the necessary forms are completed and on file. If you are not selected for an interview, your application will remain active for one year.

Teacher Benefits & Salary

PROFESSIONAL BENEFITS PROFILE (HASD TEACHER CONTRACT (8/16/2022 - 8/15/2026))

  • PPO Blue Program High Deductible Health Plan (100% District paid)   $35 (individual) or $50 (family) per month premium co-share; Spousal surcharge for selected state employers; Employer-provided Health Savings Account
  • PPO Blue Drug Plan: Family Coverage 100% District paid after deductible
  • Dental:  One-half Board contribution, one-half Teacher contribution
  • Vision:  One-half Board contribution, one-half Teacher contribution
  • Long-Term Disability Insurance: One-half Board contribution, one-half Teacher contribution of premium
  • Life Insurance:  $50,000 term life
  • Personal Day:  2 days per year - can accumulate; 1 additional day for perfect attendance
  • Emergency Day:  1 day per year - can accumulate
  • Sick Days: 10 days per year - can accumulate
  • Reimbursable Expenses:  Attendance at approved conferences and seminars. IRS mileage rate for travel
  • Tuition Reimbursement:  Up to $650 per credit for approved courses completed with a B or higher grade

SELECTED PROFESSIONAL SALARY LEVELS (2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR)

  • Long-Term Substitute (full year): $43,200
  • Long-Term Substitute (less than a full year): $29,700 prorated or $165/day after 10 consecutive days to 59 consecutive days; $43,200/yr. prorated or $240.00/day from 60 consecutive days to end of assignment 
  • Starting salary for a Full-Time Teacher with a Bachelor's degree: $49,155
  • Top-level for a Full-Time Teacher with a Bachelor's degree: $75,445
  • Starting salary for a Full-Time Teacher with a Master's degree: $50,155
  • Top-level for a Full-Time Teacher with a Master's degree: $76,945
