ADMINISTRATION POSITIONS

  • SPECIAL EDUCATION SUPERVISOR (accepting applications)

The Hollidaysburg Area School District has an opening starting 7/1/24 for a Full-Time Special Education Supervisor. Requires Certification in Supervisor of Special Education or Principal as required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education; Master’s Degree in Special Education or Education (preferred); Five years of experience working in the relevant special education department or an equivalent combination of acceptable education and/or experience.

  • SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST (accepting applications)

Full-time opening starting the 24/25 School Year.  Requires School Psychologist K-12 certification from PA Dept. of Ed. and must meet all other qualifications as listed in attached Job Description. 

Current PA Child Abuse, PA Criminal History and FBI clearances, and mandated reporter training also required.

TEACHING POSITIONS 

24/25 School Year Teacher openings:

  • BUSINESS TEACHER (Senior High)   (accepting applications)

    Full Time position with benefits starting the 24/25 School Year.  Requires appropriate teaching certificate from PA Dept. of Education and all other qualifications listed on our website.  All requested materials must be received by 4/21/2024 to be considered for employment.

Teaching applicant items to be uploaded via Applitrack include:

  2. Praxis Test Scores
  3. Reference Letters (3 minimum). Please provide three letters of recommendation from current or former employers and evaluations of student teaching.
  4. Official College Transcript
  5. Copy of Teaching Certificate
  6. Current Resume. Please be sure to include complete addresses with zip codes for all former employers (including student teaching experience) and personal references.
  7. Criminal History Clearance (Act 34) (no older than 1 year)
  8. Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151) (no older than 5 years)
  9. FBI Clearance (Act 114) (no older than 5 years)
  10. Evidence of Completed Mandated Reporter Training (Child Abuse - Act 126). If you have not had the mandatory 3-hour training course in the last 5 years, free training can be obtained at the link to the right. 
  11. Health Record (optional). If you are hired by the District, it will be necessary to have a Health Form completed by your physician prior to your first day of work. 

Your hiring will be contingent upon completion of a satisfactory pre-employment physical as well as a pre-employment drug screen. Please refer to this policy for additional information on the pre-employment drug screen.

Your hiring will also be contingent upon receipt of Act 168 Sexual Misconduct Disclosure form(s).   A request to complete the Act 168 form(s) will be sent via email and will be completed using an electronic system.

Your application will not be considered active until all the necessary forms are completed and on file. If you are not selected for an interview, your application will remain active for one year.

DAY-TO-DAY TEACHER SUBSTITUTES

Submit all application materials for teaching positions. The rate of pay is $120 per day for teacher substitutes.

Anyone who holds a bachelor's degree and meets all of the required criminal background clearances and job description requirements can be employed as a day-to-day substitute teacher and receive a salary of $120 per day.  

Working hours are flexible - subs decide if they can accept assignments and can specify a preference for building location.  Hollidaysburg Area School District hires teacher subs through the IU8 Guest Teacher Program.  Click the link to get more information on the program.

CURRENT NON-TEACHING POSITION OPENINGS                             4/15/2024

 

  • CONFIDENTIAL SECRETARY - HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT (accepting applications)

Immediate opening for a Confidential Secretary in the Human Resources Department.  Full-time (12 month, 260 days per year) with benefits after 90 days.  Hourly rate based on experience...starting at $20 per hour.

  • SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST SECRETARY (accepting applications)

Immediate part-time, 9-month position available. Applicants must meet the requirements noted below as well as all other qualifications as listed in the job description including child abuse, criminal history, and FBI clearances.  Starting salary $16.47/hr (6 hr. workday). 

  1. Computer skills: Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint.  Willingness/ability to learn District programs such as IEP Writer, Infinite Campus, and the Google Suite.
  2. General office skills to include word processing, filing, telephone, photocopying, and organizational skills.
  3. Good public relations skills in order to effectively relate to faculty, students, parents and community (including agencies and businesses).
  4. Mathematical ability in order to prepare statistical reports.
  5.  All other qualifications as listed in the job description.
  6.  Ability to secure/maintain confidentiality of student records.
  7. Ability to transcribe reports from Dictaphone.

  • SECRETARY TO THE DIRECTOR OF SPECIAL EDUCATION (currently interviewing)

Full-time central office secretary (7.5 hours per day; 12 months) working in the special education department. Starting salary of $17.17/hr. and benefits after 90-days.

  • PART-TIME FOOD SERVICE WORKERS (Accepting applications and interviewing)

Immediate openings for part-time food service workers.  Hourly rate is $15.26 per hour.  Summers off!  Prior food service experience preferred but not required. 

Current openings range from 3-5 hours per day and are located at Frankstown and C.W. Longer Elementary Schools.

We are also looking for as-needed substitute Food Service Workers at $10.25 per hour.

 All applicants must provide acceptable criminal history, child abuse, and FBI clearances, and meet all other qualifications as listed in the job description.

  • REGULAR PART-TIME SPECIAL EDUCATION PARAPROFESSIONALS 

Immediate openings for individuals to work assisting the classroom teacher as a paraprofessional. Must be willing to work with special needs students. Starting hourly rate for 23/24 School Year is $16.17 per hour. Prefer applicants with an Associate degree and experience working with special needs students. Must be proficient in high school reading and math. SUBSTITUTE ATHLETIC TRAINERS

The Hollidaysburg Area School District is seeking substitute Athletic Trainers for their Secondary Schools. Interested candidates must be NATABOC certified and must be a licensed AT in Pennsylvania. Experience is preferred and candidates must be available on short notice for afternoon/evenings and possibly Saturdays.

SUBSTITUTE FOOD SERVICE WORKERS

SUPPORT STAFF SUBSTITUTES -  SECRETARY/PARAPROFESSIONAL AND CUSTODIAN/CAFETERIA

Secretarial substitutes should have computer skills with Microsoft Office Software. Paraprofessionals must be willing to work with specials needs students and assist with activities of daily living. 

Custodians should have experience with cleaning products. 

Substitutes are called as needed - hours are flexible. The current rate of pay for support staff substitutes (Secretary/Para/Cafe) is $10.25/hr; $12.00/hr for substitute custodians.
