ADMINISTRATION POSITIONS

  • Senior Applications and Data Specialist - accepting applications

Full time, 12-month, Act 93 Administrator position available immediately.  This position is responsible for optimizing select technology services and platforms for users throughout the district through planning, technical leadership, project coordination, and training. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems Management, or equivalent required, along with 5 years’ experience working with specialized computer systems, advanced MS Office- especially Excel, and knowledge and experience with SQL databases required. PIMS Child Accounting and/or business accounting a plus.

Teaching applicant items to be completed/uploaded via Applitrack include:

  1. Application Form 
  2. Praxis Test Scores
  3. Reference Letters (3 minimum). Please provide three letters of recommendation from current or former employers and evaluations of student teaching.
  4. Official College Transcript
  5. Copy of Teaching Certificate
  6. Current Resume. Please be sure to include complete addresses with zip codes for all former employers (including student teaching experience) and personal references.
  7. Criminal History Clearance (Act 34). Please read the directions on the form carefully. If you already have an Act 34 form within the last 12 months, it is not necessary to complete another one. Submit a copy with your application. If you are contacted for an interview, you must bring the original form with you.
  8. Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151)
  9. FBI Clearance
  10. Evidence of Completed Mandated Reporter Training (Child Abuse - Act 126). If you have not had the mandatory 3-hour training course in the last 5 years, free training can be obtained at the link to the right. 
  11. Health Record (optional). If you are hired by the District, it will be necessary to have a Health Form completed by your physician prior to your first day of work. If you already have a completed health record within the last three months, you may submit it with your application.

Your hiring will be contingent upon completion of a satisfactory pre-employment physical as well as a pre-employment drug screen. Please refer to this policy for additional information on the pre-employment drug screen.

Your hiring will also be contingent upon receipt of Act 168 Sexual Misconduct Disclosure form(s).   A request to complete the Act 168 form(s) will be sent via email and will be completed using an electronic system.

DAY-TO-DAY TEACHER SUBSTITUTES

Submit all application materials for teaching positions. The rate of pay is $120 per day for teacher substitutes.

Anyone who holds a bachelor's degree and meets all of the required criminal background clearances and job description requirements can be employed as a day-to-day substitute teacher and receive a salary of $120 per day.  

Working hours are flexible - subs decide if they can accept assignments and can specify a preference for building location.  Hollidaysburg Area School District hires teacher subs through the IU8 Guest Teacher Program.  Click the link to get more information on the program.

CURRENT NON-TEACHING POSITION OPENINGS

  • Full-Time Custodian - accepting applications

Immediate opening for a Full-Time 2nd Shift Custodian.   Ability to learn the procedures used in safe and effective custodial operations and the effective operation and maintenance of custodial equipment such as floor maintenance equipment, snow removal equipment, and lawn care equipment required.  Previous custodial/maintenance experience preferred. Starting wage of $18.78 per hr.  Benefits available after 90 days.

PART-TIME FOOD SERVICE WORKERS-Accepting applications and interviewing

Immediate openings for part-time food service workers.  Hourly rate is $14.91 per hour.  Summers off!  Prior food service experience preferred but not required.  All applicants must provide acceptable criminal history, child abuse, and FBI clearances, and meet all other qualifications as listed in the job description.

REGULAR PART-TIME SPECIAL EDUCATION PARAPROFESSIONALS 

Immediate openings for individuals to work assisting the classroom teacher as a paraprofessional. Must be willing to work with special needs students. Hourly rates range from $10.25 - $15.82 per hour. Prefer applicants with an Associate degree and experience working with special needs students. Must be proficient in high school reading and math. SUBSTITUTE ATHLETIC TRAINERS

The Hollidaysburg Area School District is seeking substitute Athletic Trainers for their Secondary Schools. Interested candidates must be NATABOC certified and must be a licensed AT in Pennsylvania. Experience is preferred and candidates must be available on short notice for afternoon/evenings and possibly Saturdays.

SUBSTITUTE FOOD SERVICE WORKERS

SUPPORT STAFF SUBSTITUTES -  SECRETARY/PARAPROFESSIONAL AND CUSTODIAN/CAFETERIA

Secretarial substitutes should have computer skills with Microsoft Office Software. Paraprofessionals must be willing to work with specials needs students and assist with activities of daily living. 

Custodians should have experience with cleaning products. 

Substitutes are called as needed - hours are flexible. The current rate of pay for support staff substitutes (Secretary/Para/Cafe) is $10.25/hr; $12.00/hr for substitute custodians.
