Mr. Curt Whitesel

Mr. Curtis (Curt) Whitesel


Mr. Whitesel is a graduate of Shippensburg University where he attained his Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, and all of his administrative certifications. He began his teaching journey with the West Perry School District where he taught science to incarcerated youth at Loysville Youth Development Center.  From there, he moved on to Southern Huntingdon County School District teaching Intermediate Learning Support and Head-Teacher of the building.  After three years and the completion of his administrative certification, he returned to his Alma Mater, Mount Union Area School District, as the Junior High School Principal.  Mr. Whitesel held the Junior High Principal’s position for one year at which time he transitioned to the Senior High School where he was principal for 16 years.  When his tenure ended in Mount Union, he began his first superintendent position with the Homer-Center School District in Indiana County.  After three years as the Homer-Center Superintendent, he was awarded the position of Superintendent at the Bald Eagle Area School District.  Mr. Whitesel officially took the position of Superintendent of the Hollidaysburg Area School District in April 2024.  Mr. Whitesel and his wife Emily reside in Mount Union with their six daughters.
