Dr. Tracy Boone
Dr. Tracy Boone is proud to serve as the Assistant Superintendent of the Hollidaysburg Area School District. She brings more than two decades of dedicated educational leadership, research, and classroom expertise to the community. Appointed to her role in October 2024, Dr. Boone is deeply passionate about fostering academic excellence and supporting innovative instructional practices that help every student succeed.
Dr. Boone’s roots in education began at Lock Haven University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Secondary Mathematics Education. She launched her career at Bedford Area School District, spending ten years teaching high school mathematics. During this time, she also shared her expertise as an adjunct math instructor at Penn State Altoona and completed a Master of Science degree in Mathematics and Mathematics Education from Penn State University.
Driven by a desire to advance instructional methods, Dr. Boone accepted a four-year, full-fellowship doctoral candidacy at Penn State University. During her time in the program, she conducted vital research for the Center for Mathematics Teaching and Learning (CMTL) and taught methods courses to prepare the next generation of secondary teachers.
Committed to continuous professional growth, Dr. Boone secured her Curriculum and Instruction Supervisory Certificate along with her K-12 Principal Certification from Penn State University. These credentials paved the way for a multifaceted 16-year administrative tenure at Bald Eagle Area School District, where she initially served as the Director of Mathematics. Her leadership journey continued as an Elementary School Principal and later as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction (K-12). During this period, she successfully attained her Superintendent Letter of Eligibility and completed her Educational Doctorate (Ed.D.) in Administration at the California University of Pennsylvania.
Now at Hollidaysburg, Dr. Boone is thrilled to combine her background in curriculum development, leadership, and research to support the district's mission. She looks forward to partnering with educators and families to ensure every Golden Tiger has the tools to thrive.
Outside of work, Dr. Boone and her husband, David, are happily settled in Bellefonte, where they stay busy keeping up with their son and enjoying family life together.
